The Problem
Like many places, here in Kansas we know how difficult it is to keep your landscape looking good. You cannot grow what you want where you want it; constantly fighting drought, frost, too much water, not enough water and more. Most importantly, you simply cannot grow a CACTUS in KANSAS!
The Solution
Could the organic beauty of real cactus, succulents and more be replicated using STEEL? Durable enough to be anywhere yet lifelike enough to be a true piece of ART. In 2003 artist Eric Carroll and his father-in-law Richard Turner got to work.
The Creation
A year later Desert Steel was born with the original steel saguaro cactus. Eric and Richard loaded up with their family and set off to an art show in Arizona. People fell in love and we've never looked back, adding new pieces every year for 22 years and counting. All made in Kansas.
WILL IT LAST?
A Testament to Durability

FROM US FOR YOU
Quality Promise
Our pieces stand firm; rain, snow, wind and sun. The color may change slightly over the years but structurally it should last a lifetime.Â
If your piece does not hold up we'll work with you to make it right. That may mean replacing it, helping you get it repaired or something more creative to put a smile on your face.Â
We put certainty in the uncertainty of landscaping.
